House Passes the "Save our Gas Stoves Act" and "Gas Stove Protection and Freedom Act."
This week the House of Representatives passed the “Save Our Gas Stoves Act” and the “Gas Stove Protection and Freedom Act”. These bills prohibit the Department of Energy and the Consumer Protect Safety Commission from banning natural gas stoves. Every Republicans voted for the bills along with 29 Democrats. While 29 Democrats are not enough to override President Biden likely veto of these bills should they get that far, it is good to see some bipartisanship as Democrats broke ranks with House Democratic leadership and the President to support the continued use of natural gas choices.
This issue is beginning to prove to be the soft underbelly energy issue in the next election.
