A couple of weeks back, I published a piece reminding everyone that the real goal of the climate alarm movement related to cars is not to force you all into an electric vehicle, but ultimately to force you to quit driving entirely. In response, I received a raft of emails and nasty comments on X and LinkedIn calling me a “conspiracy theorist” for having the temerity to point out what is simply an unarguable fact of life.
So, imagine my delight today when I read this story at Politico.eu:
That’s right: It isn’t a full ban on driving, but Germany’s transport minister, an authoritarian brute named [checks notes] Volker Wissing, is threatening to use the considerable powers of his office that the German people stupidly conferred to him to make driving on the weekends illegal “indefinitely” because he isn’t getting his way in the energy and climate policy debate.
Note to dumbasses: A Conspiracy isn’t a “Theory” when it is standing in front of you slapping you in your stupid faces.
Here’s an excerpt from that story:
Germany’s transport minister is threatening to ban driving on weekends to meet climate goals if the ruling coalition does not pass reforms to the Climate Protection Act by July.
“The fact that the amendment is still not in force leads to considerable legal and factual uncertainties,” liberal politician Volker Wissing wrote in a letter to the parliamentary group leaders of the coalition, German outlet BILD reported Thursday.
“This serves neither the climate nor the reputation of the federal government," he said.
A reduction in traffic to help meet the climate goals would only be possible through measures that are difficult to communicate to the public, such as “comprehensive and indefinite driving bans on Saturdays and Sundays,” Wissing added.
[End]
Ok, is it clear to everyone now? All Mr. Wissling is doing here is seizing on an excuse to force Germans to stop driving, even if it is on an incremental basis. The very fact that he has any power to do this serves as a shocking warning to the system to anyone who, like the average German, believes they still live in a “free” society and enjoy rights we have all taken for granted.
Rest assured, authoritarian ghouls like Wissling are only too willing to demonstrate just how wrong you are in that belief. Also rest assured that authoritarian ghouls just like Minister Wissling are currently ensconced in powerful positions in every western government today. Who do you think John Podesta and Pete Buttigieg and Stephen Guilbeault view as role models, if not guys like Wissling?
This is not a theory. It is a warning. Take it seriously. Stop behaving like braindead sheep.
That is all.
In contrast: fueled up at Buc-ees in Bastrop, TX the other day. Freedom!🇺🇲
Well Dave, I'm guessing Cali next.
