The Energy Absurdity of the Week: You'll Never Guess Why Maine Postponed Its Vote On Banning Gas Cars
Truly, honestly, for reals, y’all: If these climate alarmist useful idiots didn’t exist, no one in their right mind would ever even dream of trying to make them up.
December 21, 2023 was supposed to be the day on which the Maine Board of Environmental Protection (Maine BEP) was to conduct a vote on whether to copy the climate geniuses in California’s plan to ban the sale of new gas-powered cars and trucks by 2032. This is an easy virtue signal for craven politicians to make, especially given the date well into the future that can always be pushed back by a few years if circumstances demanded it.
But the problem that keeps cropping up again and again and again for the authoritarian social planners of the left is the consistent unwillingness of reality to cooperate with their fantasies. And that’s what happened one more time this week up in Maine.
