The Energy Absurdity of the Week: Want the Newest EV Model From GM? Take Out a Second Mortgage on Your Home.
In a recent story at the Daily Caller I chronicled the fact that the geniuses running GM’s electric car division have in recent years cancelled every affordable model of EV the company has ever made, replacing them with extremely expensive models that can be afforded only by the wealthiest class of Americans.
Out are the Chevy Bolt, the Chevy Volt and the venerable EV1, all pretty economically priced cars designed to be sold to the mass market of consumers. In are the Hummer EV, the Hummer Pickup EV, the Chevy Blazer EV, the Chevy Silverado EV and the Cadillac Lyriq, all costly luxury models priced 30% or more above comparable gas-powered cars in the same class.
