California’s policymakers have long been stark, raving insane when it comes to energy and climate policies. Much of this stems from the fact that they’ve used Germany and its own stark, raving mad policies as a role model for the last 30 years, but also because Californians tend to consistently vote abject lunatics to represent them in Sacramento.
The trouble with policy madness is that it tends to act similarly to a virus or other transmissible disease, in that the consequences of the policy madness tend to result in the state’s business executives going about creating more madness of their own in response. It’s a true contagion.
