Why ERCOT had to ask Texans to Conserve Power on Monday

If you want to understand why ERCOT felt the need to issue the conservation request to users on the #Texas #grid, just take a look at the screen shot of its generation mix as of 5:49 a.m. pasted below.

#Solar: 0%

#Wind: 6.5%, and just about 11% of its nameplate capacity

#BatteryStorage: 0%

#NaturalGas: 67.4% [!]

#Coal: 18.4%

#Nuclear: 7.4%

#Hydro: .2%

So, what does that tell us?
