Great reflection, David. It’s precisely this quality and freedom of life that the same among us strive to preserve.

Very well written. My Dad was a ref too - in Dallas in the 70s before he moved us to Wyoming. He taught me how to be a ref and taught me everything in the world about every sport and took me to games he was officiating. Isn't it cool how you can get into these games without paying an arm and a leg and can get a great seat and sometimes you can actually stand on the sideline or at the end of the end zone or even roam around so you've always got the best view. During Covid, I volunteered to be on the chain gang, because it was literally the only way I would be allowed into the stadium. The chain gang always has the second best "seats" in the house. The refs have the best. Very cool.
