This on top of your previous article re Fiskar, Rivian, and Lucid. underscores the continued challenges for EV makers. Without government intervention, these companies would have never even hit first gear. You can count on more subsidies, anyway. And hopefully more backlash from taxpayers.

Interesting comments. And the EV sentiment would likely be stronger in buyers if all new vehicles - against any form of battery vehicle. The battery approach simply doesn’t make sense for most vehicle owners. The more sensible approach would be increased fuel economy.

But then politicians have become a corrupt bunch of lunatics focused on self enrichment rather than improving governance and maintaining freedom.

Shocking. Even “What would you like the report to say” McKillme can’t ignore the facts. Pure EVs really only appeal to wealthy consumers with at least one other vehicle that is a conventional ICE powered, and feel an endorphin rush thinking that they are saving the planet by their actions, or are just trying to convince others that they are. I’ve said from the beginning of this fad that’s about 5% of the U. S. population, even if there were charging stations in every gas station coast to coast. Anyone living in an apartment (you know, the 95% who cannot afford an overpriced house today) can’t “charge at home” like the 5%ers that also have put Chinese solar panels on their roof and are saving the planet twice as fast!

As for those who worship “technology”, If you want an autonomous driving experience, take the train or the bus.

I lived close to Chicago downtown and worked in downtown for six years. I enjoyed taking the train every day - it was really a great autonomous driving experience of my life!

Amen pal, and I’ll guess you had no accidents in that six years.

Perhaps now, on one front, the destruction of the planet by the Green Grifters may slow (?)

No, the Marxists pushing the scam will just do what they always do and double-down on failure one more time. They will not stop until they are forced to stop.

The only EV that ever made any sense at all was the Toyota Prius hybrid.

Which is why it is also the most successful EV ever made.

Isn’t it odd that collectivists criticize the outcomes of Capitalism as immoral but copy the same Capitalist mechanisms to accomplish their goals?

a lesson we have yet to learn ... never grant power to those who want to protect the world from mankind.

In Europe, an EV doesn't have the range difficulty as here in the U.S., so their citizens have a much better range of service--when you can tour the complete country in a couple of days it is just different.. try doing a cross country trip in the U.S., and one can see the support for finding a working charging station and constantly stopping to charge erode quickly. I will never support efforts to force me into buying something that hinders my own progress through Fascistic mandates, and neither should anyone else. Including Europeans.
