Excellent news. That's what we're talking about. Say what you mean; mean what you say. Follow through. Act like you've got a pair... And, things seem to work better. Hope the peace lasts. Great post David!
In the rush to feather his ego and appease the MAGA base, DJT whiffed on the chance of a lifetime to finish off once and for all the Iranian delusional theocracy. Another week or two of pressing home our huge advantages in firepower would have inevitably led to the outright collapse of the regime, and total exit from the world stage onto the ash of history. Like not finishing off the Germans in 1918 led to having to fight the war all over again 20 years later, I suspect this may come back to haunt us. The Mullahs and their supporters are fanatics united above all by hate for Israel, are we now going to witness them sitting across the table from their visceral enemy expecting them to abide by what they agree to? Don't make me laugh. I thought we learned in 1939, you don't make pacts with the Devil...
Everyone I know in the conservative camp that jumped the gun on being bothered by the bombing didn’t give this a chance to play out. I also wasn’t wild about watching the US bomb a country in the Middle East AGAIN but figured I would just see how it plays out. Trump is always looking over the hill when everyone else is looking 5 minutes into the future. Let the man govern as he was duly elected to do.
I have to say, I’m thoroughly disappointed. I’m not a warmonger, but I do very strongly believe that you don’t take on the bully and leave him standing. They CLAIMED to know where the Ayatollah was hiding and to have the ability to take him out at will. Failing to do that leaves him stronger than before. If Iran was hell to live in before, wait til you see what’s coming. What I hope is that this is a head fake to draw him and his cronies out of hiding so the Israelis can strike the final blow, then step in to fill the power vacuum until a new government has been formed. But I suspect this is just dreaming. In reality, I think Trump is wanting to appease his maga base that is so strongly against long, never-ending wars while proving all of his accusers wrong in their negative predictions. I’m fine with the US pulling back and letting the Israelis conduct whatever operations they deem necessary to finish the job. What I’m not fine with is Trump commanding the Israelis to ceasefire. The only possible reason I can see for this is that maybe he doesn’t want an unchecked Israel totally dominating the ME, leaving them with a lot more $$$ and free time to meddle in American politics.
I was referring more to futures traders that thought oil was going to rise and went long on Sunday at $76 on margin. They aren't a happy bunch right now. August contracts dropped almost instantly by $8 a barrel.

I appreciate Trump, but I totally agree with you on the part about why is he stopping short of true long-term success?
Those who don't learn from history....

I am guessing that besides Tucker and Thomas, there are a bunch of oil traders who are also very confused.
Its just a blip in history for oil traders. A flat stock price doesn't make anyone money. Its already proving to bring some better buys on the market.

Oh ya, that would take a hunk of flesh and fingers off a trader!
Gonna be a whole lot of backtracking tomorrow by everyone who was "in the know".
Not.
This is precisely what a leader acts like. Naysayers in Congress best get on board with
the bigger stage coach. It's called MAGA. And while they are at it, stop playing games.
Graham was ready to start sending bombs. He was on the Senate floor begging today.
Graham has frequent wargasms.
